Penicillin Class: Bactericidal

Mechanism: Cell wall inhibition

Indications: infections caused by any Gram Positive Bacteria and penicillin sensitive organism: Skin Infections, Bacterial pneumonia, URT, Strangles, Blackleg and Urinary tract infections (at higher Doses).

Synergism: Aminoglycosides

Antagonists: Tetracyclines, Chloramphenicol and Paromomycin.

Notes: It can cause Allergy, vomiting, diarrhea (or Enteritis if administered orally). Adrenaline must be used at once if severe respiratory distress is there.
